Valentines wedding inspiration at luxury Bath venue, Farleigh House

What springs to mind when you think of Valentines Day? Red roses, right?! And red roses were in abundance for this creative shoot at luxury Bath wedding venue, Farleigh House.

Nestled in 135 acres of Somerset countryside, Farleigh House is a grade II listed country estate that is also home to Bath Rugby club. Whether you’re hosting a large celebration or an intimate wedding, there are plentiful options at this beautiful venue. Smaller ceremonies can be held inside the house with the stunning oak staircase as the perfect romantic backdrop to say your vows or for larger gatherings, why not take advantage of the generous grounds overlooking the Somerset countryside?

Lucy of Lucy Ann Event’s vision for this creative shoot was to inspire couples planning their wedding with a nod to Valentines day with the styling. Set up for an intimate wedding, a long trestle table sat in front of the grand staircase. Tall candles and bud vases with deep red roses and carnations lined the middle of the table. Beautiful red velvet bows embroidered with guests initials added an opulence to the overall look.

The ornate staircase, a central feature in the room, was adorned with an abundance of roses, carnations, foliage and gypsophila.

For the wedding cake, I was keen to adopt a really modern look and take advantage of the deep red colour palette for a truly dramatic design. Keen to keep the soft and romantic feel, the bottom tier was covered in soft wafer paper ruffles with deep red sugar roses protruding from the cake.
