Delighted to be sharing the gallery from this gorgeous shoot at the stunning Euridge Manor last year! You may have already seen my ‘Behind the Scenes’ blog but the shoot has since been featured on The Lane. I initially received the concept and mood board from Abi at AR Weddings last year and was instantly intrigued and itching to get sketching some designs. Abi’s brief included words like ‘contemporary’, ‘minimalist’ ‘neutral’ and she had a desire to style this shoot using inspiration from the colours and textures of this incredible venue. Abi says,
“Although an extremely eclectic venue, Euridge’s bathhouse with its extraordinary shell grotto, gothic cloister- style corridors that run off from it and the Italianesque loggia, all felt to me to be cohesive spaces and ultimately gave us our neutral barely there taupe colour palette. Natural, raw materials such as the Bath stone, wooden details and natural linens helped to complement all these spaces.”
The main set up for the shoot was to be outside, beneath the Loggia terrace, over looking the infamous boathouse at Euridge. The table styling featured soft linens, wooden chairs and neutral crockery and glassware as well as minimalist stationery with embossed texturing. A 2 tier textured cake took centre stage on the table, giving an intimate feel to the table setting. The draped fondant detailing gave the illusion of movement in the breeze for this outdoor setting.
I adapted the contemporary cake design to a 3 tier cake for some additional design inspiration inside the grand Ballroom, where it perfectly complimented the tones and textures of the stone columns.
Florals played a huge role in the overall styling and look for this shoot. Neutral floral arrangements, which included long, delicate dried grass, spilled over textured bowls, giving the illusion that they have grown organically in the space.
Bridalwear and accessories complimented the contemporary theme for this shoot and allowed for plenty of couples portrait shots in the many spaces available at Euridge.
Abi offers the following tips for couples planning their wedding:
“When planning your wedding, more specifically when booking your wedding venue, look around and pay attention. Anything you choose aesthetically, from your table designs, to stationery, to cake design and even the clothes you choose to wear will inevitably need to work well within and be sympathetic to your chosen environment.”
