I had the immense pleasure this summer of joining a fabulous team of wedding vendors to deliver a stunning wedding for our couple, who flew over from Canada for their wedding in the heart of London. The venue for the wedding was the incredible Shangri La Hotel, which sits in the middle of the iconic Shard.
The wedding took place in the Ren room, which included a traditional Sofreh ceremony to honour the brides Persian heritage. A beautiful floral meadow lined the aisle that led to the table full of Sofreh symbolic items. At the end of the aisle stood a beautiful floral arch, framing the couple as they said their vows.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, taking in panoramic views of London with live music playing in the background. Many popular songs were being played in a beautifully classical style.
Whilst guests were enjoying drinks, the Ren room was being turned around for the couples evening reception. Tables featured a mixture of elegant high and low floral installations, candles and beautiful gold charger plates and cutlery. A sweetheart table for the couple featured a stunning white floral meadow lining it. A white mirror dance floor was also being installed for the evening festivities.
The couple wanted a tall, timeless, elegant cake design that blended perfectly with the rest of their stying. After sharing some bespoke design options with them, they opted for a 5 tier (it had to be a tall cake in the Shard, right?!), all white design with intricate edible lace surrounding the top and bottom tiers. Delicate sugar flowers including roses and peonies cascaded down the middle tiers. The cake was positioned next to the couples sweetheart table with the panoramic views of London in the background and later moved to the dance floor for the cutting.
