Behind the scenes at a luxury Wedgewood inspired shoot at Somerley House

I will write a full blog about this wonderful shoot as soon as the professional images are edited, but in the meantime, I couldn’t help but draft a quick blog to show you some behind the scenes footage from this incredible shoot! This shoot was just so beautiful, I couldn’t wait to give you a little taster, so here it is…!

I came up with the concept for this shoot as I was desperate to create my own shoot, giving me full artistic control so that I could design and create the wedding cake of my dreams! Something that would push me creatively and challenge me technically. But it was important to still stay true to what I love: contemporary design with textural features and delicate sugar flowers. I was also keen for the cake to take centre stage – so often I see wedding cakes being hidden in the corner of a venue!

Somerley is just the most exquisite wedding venue; it has a grandeur and presence about it that is just magical and I knew we had to push the boundaries with every aspect of the styling for this shoot to do justice to this beautiful setting. It needed an abundance of florals, beautiful bridalwear and accessories, a stunning tablescape and of course, a wow-factor cake! With the help of Hannah Baskett Wedding Design and Jamie Edward Photography, I assembled the most incredibly talented team to nail this brief!

It’s so important when styling a luxury wedding however, not to forget about the details, however small – this is what, I believe, will truly make it worthy of the title ‘luxury’.

I won’t give too much away just yet as you’ll only feel the true impact of this shoot when you see the incredibly talented Jamie Edward Photography’s edited gallery of images (coming soon I promise!) but here’s a taster from ‘Behind the Scenes’ of this epic styled shoot…
