Advantages of hand made sugar flowers on your luxury wedding cake

Are you considering flowers or a floral display for your wedding cake? If so, you may be wondering whether to opt for fresh flowers or sugar flowers. In this post, I’ll outline some of the advantages to choosing sugar flowers.

Before I begin, I just want to make it clear that I am by no means anti fresh flowers on a wedding cake! I love fresh flowers and they have their own advantages (the smell for one thing!) but this blog is going to focus on why I think you should consider sugar flowers for your wedding cake.

The first advantage of sugar flowers is that they aren’t seasonal like fresh flowers. Therefore, if you have your heart set on a particular flower at a particular time of year, (for example, a peony in October) but that flower isn’t in season for your wedding, as a sugar florist I can make that flower at any time of the year.

In addition, sugar flowers creates such a wow factor on a wedding cake. When you tell your guests that the flowers on your cake (that they had assumed where real) are in fact sugar, I guarantee you will get a ‘wow’ in response!

Another of the advantages of sugar flowers is that, if kept in the right environment, they can last long after your wedding day. They will serve as a beautiful keepsake and reminder of your most special day.

And finally, an experienced sugar florist will be able to colour match your sugar flowers to other elements of your wedding styling such as fabrics, stationary and fresh flowers.

So there you have it, the advantages of choosing sugar flowers for your wedding cake!

I hope you found this blog useful…
