The luxury wedding cake process
Here you can find out how we go from initial hello to finished showstopping wedding cake.
I try to keep the process as streamlined and stress-free for you as possible (creating the dessert of your dreams and tasting lots of cake along the way should be FUN, right?). However, if you have questions at any point, I’m always on email and here for you during your planning process.

the process

Get in touch via the contact page once you’ve set a date for your wedding and decided on your venue and I’ll check my availability to see if I’m free for your date. If you’d like to sample my cakes before booking, you can order one of my delicious sample boxes. These cost £40 + postage and contain 4 cake tasters, a pot of delicious white chocolate ganache and 2 edible wedding favours

If i’m available on your date and you’d like to book, you can secure a spot in my diary with a non-refundable booking fee of £100. Don’t worry, there’s no need for you to have all your ideas and plans in order about what you’re looking for design wise at this stage. If you’re still working out exactly the way you want your wedding to look and feel, that’s totally fine. With my friendly design consultation session, I’ll help you bring those ideas together into something that looks stunning and tastes scrumptious!

At around 4-6 months before your wedding date, the fun begins. We’ll get together for a design consultation. You’ll have received a delicious wedding cake sample box in advance of this meeting (if you didn’t order one before booking) so we can discuss your flavour choices during the consultation. This in-depth creative meeting will dig deep to find out all the details of your gorgeous wedding and your style as a couple, and it will give me the inspiration I need to get designing for you.

I’ll work up a few different hand-drawn sketches for you, showing the details, the colours, the flavours and the way it will all come together, as well as a costing for each one.

Take your time with these sketches, and come back to me with your thoughts. We can tweak and refine until things are absolutely perfect. The balance for your wedding cake will be due 1 month before the big day.

Time for me to get busy in the kitchen. I’ll create your wedding cake and finish it to perfection, and will liaise with your wedding venue to organise delivery and set up, for its moment in the spotlight.

The moment you’ve been waiting for. Cut into your wedding cake, share it with your loved ones, savour every mouthful, leave only crumbs!
