BTS: Charming countryside Tudor venue meets beautiful contemporary wedding cake.

Come behind the scenes of J&C’s beautiful Autumnal Tudor wedding, set in the heart of the home counties countryside…

At the end of a sprawling woodland drive, nestled in the countryside on the Hampshire Surrey border, is the charming 16th century, Elizabethan barn style wedding venue, Cain Manor. A quintessential English venue that is associated with luxury weddings due to its perfectly secluded setting and the limited number of weddings it hosts each year.

As I arrived at the venue for J & C’s wedding, the house stood proudly in front of me with it’s old oak beans adding charm and character. The gorgeous oak doorway, which had a beautiful floral display mounted above it, lead me through to the Music Room a charming barn style room with exposed oak beams, adorned with twinkling lights. Their ceremony had just finished and I could see the perfect spot where the couple had said their vows – in front of the Cathedral Window, overlooking the beautiful gardens and views of the Surrey hills with a stunning floral arch framing them.

As I set up their cake in the corner of the Music Room, the space was being turned around for their Wedding Breakfast – a gorgeous mix of high and low floral displays sat in the middle of each of the tables in a mixture of blush tones, an abundance of deep green foliage and pops of deep burgundy, hinting at the autumn, which was just unfolding.

J&C were keen on a contemporary cake design, which would provide a beautiful contract to their historic venue. After sketching several bespoke design options for them, they settled on a tall 3 tier white design with partial wraparound ‘sleeves’ in blush tones with a stone effect texture. To draw in their florals to the design, I added fresh flowers from their florist. The couple choose a delicious mix of flavours for their guests to enjoy; Raspberry & White Chocolate, Lemon Sponge and Sticky Toffee.
