I’m delighted to share images from this extraordinary editorial from last summer at the beautifully unique Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham, London.
Lucy Meeham from Lucy Meehan Events recruited a team of experienced, creative wedding vendors to execute her vision for a “wedding shoot which captured the design and architectural features of the House, while bringing a contemporary elegance to inspire bridal couples looking to get married in a historic space.”
With modern bridal wear, beautiful floral installations, elegant stationery and a contemporary cake design, Lucy blended the historic features of Strawberry Hill House with modern wedding style in a considered and thoughtful manner.
Styling elements were predominately in a neutral colour palette, which blended seamlessly with the rich textures in the library, with touches of deep green velvet bows and caramel and mustard tones included in the floral installations for added richness.
For the wedding cake, I drew inspiration from the Gothic architecture with stone/brick effect panelling wrapping around each tier. The cake was taller than average to reflect the grandeur of the venue and featured touches of gold leaf for opulence and to reflect the ornate gold detailing in the room. Delicate sugar flowers added a modern touch and a softness to the otherwise contemporary design.
