10 song ideas to cut your luxury wedding cake to!

The cutting of your wedding cake is one of the key moments in your wedding day schedule – it’s your first ‘official’ act as a couple and one where all eyes are on you! And there’s something extra you can do to make this moment even more special – have a song to cake your cake to!

The cutting of your cake also signals the end of the formal wedding breakfast to your guests and the start of the evening party! So what better way to get the party started than to play a song whilst cutting your cake?!

It also has the added benefit of weaving another personal detail into your wedding – if you’re struggling to pick your first dance song, this gives you another opportunity to add a song that means something to you as a couple.

  1. As your first official act as a couple, perhaps you’d like a song that signals new beginnings?
  • From now on (from The Greatest Showman soundtrack)
  • We’ve only just begun (The Carpenters)
  1. Or perhaps you’d like a more uplifting song to get the evening party started?!
  • Let’s get this party started (P!nk)
  • I believe in a thing called love (The Darkness)
  • River Deep, Mountain High (Ike and Tina Turner)

Which ever song you choose, it’s another opportunity to personalise your special day and create a wonderful memory for you and your guests. Which song will you choose to cut your cake to?
